Welcome to Harvey Mountain Discus.

Discus are part of the cichlid family, of the genus "Symphysodon". These are identified by their round disk-like shape and their flattened body. In nature these are found in the warm, calm waters of the Amazon River and its many tributaries.

Here at Harvey Mountain Discus we have bred our own breeders by purchasing solid stock at a young age or size (2-1/2 inches) and growing them to beautiful specimen's you see in our pictures.

 for good reason these fish are often called the "King of the Aquarium"
